Cornwall Folk Festival, Wadebridge
28 – 31 August
This is an international line up of musicians from Cornwall & Brittany to Africa & the USA but you’ll also find singers, instrument workshops and children’s entertainment. This year Cornwall Folk Festival has teamed up with Haywood Farm Cider to help keep the spirits high this bank holiday weekend!
The Big Produce Market, Truro
28 – 30 August
Truro’s Big Produce Market will offer a mix of food to buy and eat, featuring some of the county’s favourites along with many newcomers to the industry. Expect to see a huge variety and choice of high quality produce in a relaxed, continental atmosphere, plus entertainment, market lunches and chef demo’s throughout the two days.
Morval Vintage Steam Rally, nr Looe
29 – 31 August
This is a working vintage steam rally with vintage tractors, cars, motorbikes, military vehicles, commercials and stationary engines. Alongside this are trade stands, craft tent, hot food, bar and children’s entertainment.
Portscatho Regatta, Portscatho – 29 August
This is a traditional regatta with a full programme of sailing over an exciting and highly visible course in the beautiful Gerrans Bay. On the land events include live music, games and food and drink.
Newlyn Fish Festival, Newlyn
Newlyn is one of Britain’s premier fishing ports where you can expect the best seafood and this event helps to raise money for the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen. You can see one of the biggest displays of fish, watch a rolling programme of cookery demos by top local chefs and watch the Cornish Fishmonger of the Year competition. There are three music stages, plenty of boats including luggers, gigs, fishing boats, lifeboats and jet skis, with lots of arts and crafts, the ‘Fish Tales Tent’ with some of the best local story-tellers. Children are not left out as there is plenty of fun, with bouncy castles, face-painting, crazy theatre and the ever-popular ‘Fishy Trail’.
